Don't Wait to file H-1B Petitions!
H-1B Numbers for October 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998
The USCIS has reported that 59,108 H-1B new petitions were approved from the beginning of the 1998-1999 fiscal year on October 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998. So, it appears that the 1998-1999 limit of 115,000 may be reached in the Summer 1999. No one knows however, whether the new $500 filing fee for most petitions will impact the number of petitions filed. Still, if you have a potential H-1B employer, don't wait to long to start the process.
